Meet Shanti

On June 7th, 2019 The shakti Mission Met Shanti, a 29 year old disabled woman living in Berbice, Guyana. Shanti suffers from severe neurological and developmental disorders; and was born with underdeveloped arms and no legs.

Our friends at Service To Humanity. Today’s Children Our Future brought Shanti’s conditions to our attention and asked how we can help. Her family was in dire need of supplies for Shanti’s daily care.

And so Over these past few months, The Shakti Mission along with the members and congregation of the Shri Shakti Mariammaa Temple were able to raise enough funds to aid Shanti’s family. We were able to provide the family with a month worth of groceries and 3 months of hygienic products.

But this is only a few months worth of assistance.

TSM'S New Program

The Shakti Mission is pleased to announce it’s  new initiative called “The Guyana Food Relief Program“, aimed at alleviating hunger for the most destitute population in Guyana – children and senior citizens.

We have partnered with A Sain and Son Supermarket in Willaimsburg, Guyana to provide up to a months worth of groceries to families with the greatest need.

We cannot completely eradicate hunger, but you can support The Shakti Mission to alleviate starvation. Every dollar that you donate goes directly to our most needy populations. We do not impose any administrative fees. We are a volunteer group with a strong passion for helping our vulnerable brothers and sisters.
