THE SHAKTI MISSION
HELP OTHERS BY GIVING
Our mission is centered around alleviating some of the hardships faced by families in our local communities. By providing bags of groceries, sponsoring pantries, and distributing hot meals we strive to make a small impact in the lives of struggling families.
The Shakti Mission
A group of altruistic friends established The Shakti Mission, a 501c3 non-profit organization, to help alleviate the chronic hardships faced by our brothers and sisters- many of whom are disadvantaged, disabled and elderly-in our local community right here in NYC and abroad in Guyana by providing hot meals, clothing, refurbished electronics, toiletries and financial assistance.

GET INVOLVED WHERE IT MATTERS
Friends, we are taking measured steps to alleviate hunger amongst the most destitute, and to restore dignity to those that are being robbed of it.
Poverty is a destructive force, but together, we can fight to combat it – one meal at a time, one article of clothing at a time.
We cannot do this work alone. If you would like to join our fight, please contact us regarding volunteer opportunities.

OUR LATEST ACTIVITY
The Briarwood houses up to 70 families and needs to provide meals three times per day. They also have an after-school program and need to provide snacks for the kids.
The Shakti Mission is providing fruits on a monthly basis but The Briarwood is also in desperate need of snacks and dry goods. We are currently speaking with food pantries in the area to request one-time donations and will begin an ongoing donation program.
